Oh dear. In response to your sons sinus surgery. I know how that feels too!! Except I didn't manage to blow my tubes out. It was the first big sneeze I took after the tubes came out. It was that ball peen hammer right between the running lights boy! Again, I was frozen in pain and my mom was trying to so hard to be consoling but she was laughing like hell at the same time. I must have looked ridiculous cupping my hand over my nose frozen like I just saw a rattlesnack. Was it worth?! Yep, I can breath through my nose now, just not for the next two weeks.. Oh lordy no breathing here for me :)
I wish you the best of luck with your CI testing. What stage are you at?

Yeah-- I had sinus surgery too-- Last January. I'm a big chicken about surgery. I'm at the very beginning with CI testing. I was referred for testing two years ago, but didn't qualify because my speech discrimination was too good then. Now I've lost another 10dbs and my speech discrimination scores are pretty bad--12% on left ear, 0% on right-- they gave up. I haven't even made the appointment yet. I've been busy here and I have really mixed feelings about it. My low tones are good. I don't want to lose them. But I want to get tested again just to see if I qualify and we'll go from there.
